I trained at The UNIVERSITY COLLEGE OF OSTEOPATHY in London where I was awarded the Final Year Prize for Concepts of Osteopathic Practice in the 1990s, I have been working with patients in the Henley area since 1999.
Patients arrive with a range of issues from discal neck and back pain to shoulder, hip and knee pain to headaches or breathing difficulties. Over the years I have worked holistically to unravel the cause and so endeavour to treat that problem in addition to the presenting issue.
It’s usual to examine, diagnose and treat but also to have chats about possible relieving and aggravating lifestyle choices. So a chronic headache maybe due to many factors but if of mechanical origin, might be aggravated by cycling or breast stroke swimming and so on.
As Osteopaths we continue with training and keep evolving our approaches with experience and exposure. So in 2022 I spent a weekend with Niel-Asher, so further learning and practicing a treatment approach for frozen shoulder (adhesive capsulitus) and more recently in 2023 a weekend with Professor Laurie Hartman.
He has spent the past 50 years as one of the worlds premier osteopaths and the weekend was about the mission of delivering precise skilled high velocity thrusts with minimal force so ultimately the movement is of minimal force, a tiny movement that creates a big change in structure and function.
I also do cranial work, acupuncture and ultrasound.
